Virgin Blue and Europcar extend Partnership

Travel News Asia 28 April 2005

Virgin Blue and Europcar have taken their existing partnership to a new level, today signing a contract to extend the relationship for another two years.

Since 2002, Virgin Blue and Europcar have worked closely together to offer Virgin Blue passengers special car rental rates on all Europcar vehicles.

Virgin Blue Chief Commercial Officer, Stefan Pichler said, “Virgin Blue is excited to be continuing this partnership for its Guests, who have benefited from attractive reduced rates on the road as well as in the air. As an airline we have spread our wings to many regional destinations but we also realise our Guests appreciate an affordable road trip option to further enhance their holiday or business trip with Virgin Blue.”

Europcar has team members and vehicles at all Virgin Blue ports to streamline the process from aircraft cabin to car.

Europcar Asia Pacific Chief Executive Officer, Doug Hunt, said that renewing the preferred operator partnership with Virgin Blue continued an important at-airport customer service stream around Australia.

“We welcome the new agreement because air travel and car rental go hand-in-hand, for both business and leisure travellers,” said Mr Hunt. “Both businesses have a lot in common and a great deal of energy, therefore the relationship is strong and will continue to grow.”

With Europcar coming on line in New Zealand and Fiji, Europcar has also maintained its relationship with Pacific Blue Airlines to provide International travellers with the same benefits as domestic flyers”, Mr Hunt said.

To celebrate the renewed partnership Europcar has launched a special promotional offer for Virgin Blue passengers of A$39 per day car rental for the entire month of May.
