Marco Polo Appoints General Managers for Hotels in Shenzhen and Ho Chi Minh City

The Marco Polo Hotel Group has appointed Henk Meyknecht as General Manager of the soon to open Marco Polo Shenzhen in China and James Ong as General Manager of The Marco Polo Omni Saigon.

Mr. Meyknecht joined the Marco Polo Hotel Group in 2002 as General Manager of The Marco Polo Omni Saigon. A hotel veteran, his career spans over a period of 20 years during which he has worked for SAS, Hilton International, Peninsula Hotels and the InterContinental Hotels Group in Europe, United States and Asia. In his new position, he will work with the groups head office to prepare for the pre-opening of the 391 rooms 5-star Marco Polo Hotel in Shenzhen, China. The hotel is scheduled to open in June 2006.

Mr. James Ong, the new General Manager of The Marco Polo Omni Saigon has over 10 years experience as a General Manager in the United States, Philippines, China, Hong Kong and Indonesia. He also has extensive Food & Beverage experience overseeing multi-concept restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. Mr. Ongs responsibility will be the supervision of hotel operations, marketing and reservation system of Marco Polos Saigon property.
