Jetstar Asia to launch flights between Singapore and Bangalore

Travel News Asia 26 September 2005

Jetstar Asia is to launch a five times weekly service between Singapore and Bangalore, India. The airline is also adding an additional service to Kolkata, making it a four-time weekly destination.

While exact commencement dates for the routes are to be determined, Jetstar Asia is aiming for the new services to be up and running by the end of October 2005.

“I’m delighted that we’ll soon be able to offer our passengers the Bangalore option on top of our additional service to Kolkata,” said Mr Ken Ryan, Jetstar Asia’s CEO.

“Bangalore’s business connection to Singapore is strong and travel demand in recent years has grown at impressive rates.

“With the rising wealth in Bangalore we’re confident that we’ll also appeal to travellers who would come to Singapore for long weekends or use the Jetstar Asia service for onward holiday destinations such as Phuket or Hong Kong,” said Mr Ryan.

Schedules and fares for the new services to Bangalore and the additional flight to Kolkata are expected to be announced soon.
