Finnair to launch direct flights between Helsinki and Tuscany

Travel News Asia 26 July 2005

Finnair is to launch direct flights from Helsinki to Tuscany next spring.

The airline will operate the route with its Airbus A320 fleet, flying directly to the heart of the area to Galileo Galilei Florence Pisa International Airport. Tuscany is Finnair's fourth destination in Italy, the other three being Rome, Milan and Venice in the summer season.

"The flights to Tuscany are a welcome addition to our Italian destination selection, which serves our Asian passengers well," explained Finnair VP Network Strategies and Management Petteri Kostermaa.

The historical Tuscan cities of Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Livorno - in addition to the Chianti wine area located close by - create an unequalled entity offering something for everyone. The area's art treasures, architecture, local dining and shopping possibilities as well as the picture perfect countryside that surrounds the cities ensure that no traveller will have problems with what to do with his/her time.
