Dubai Eye, part of the Dubai Radio Network, flew the host of their daily Siobhan Live program, to broadcast her show live from Phuket. The British radio show host, Siobhan Leyden, who has lived in Dubai for seven years, was sponsored by the Dusit Laguna Resort and Thai Airways International to broadcast from Phuket for five days from Saturday 28 May until Wednesday 1 June.

Dubai Eye was one of the first talk radio stations in the Middle East, broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week with thought provoking, intelligent programming on business, lifestyle, health, entertainment and the media. The two-hour (1200-0200pm) Siobhan Live program deals with issues more focussed on the family, lifestyle, art and culture. The objective was to promote Phuket as a travel destination prior to the peak travel season from the Middle East (July to August) and to talk about what the island has to offer holidaymakers as well as the recovery from the events of 26 December.

While in Phuket Siobhan spoke to local people in a Q&A session that provided first hand information to her listeners. She interviewed a wide variety of local personalities haling from the tourism, property, wellness and yachting industries, to name a few. Her guests from Laguna Phuket included James Batt - Managing Director of Laguna Phuket, Ravi Chandran - Managing Director of Spa Operations for Banyan Tree, Jeannie Sng – AVP Spa Services for Banyan Tree, Steve Scott - Director of the Laguna Phuket Golf Club, Jan Verduyn – Dusit Laguna’s new General Manager, Andrew Trigg - Director of Engineering at Dusit Laguna who spoke about the project to rebuild Kamala Temple and Debbie Dionysius - Director of Destination Marketing for Laguna Phuket.

Other notable guests included Assistant Professor Pranee Sakulpipatana, Director of Phuket Cultural Center, Rajaphat Phuket University, who provided a wealth of information to interested listeners about the history and culture of Phuket, and Kitti Phatanachinda representing the Phuket Tourism Association.

During the Siobhan Live program on Tue 31 May the Thai Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Somsakdi Suriyawongse, and a senior executive of Thai Airways International in the UAE travelled from Abu Dhabi to the Dubai Eye studio to also participate in the Thailand themed Siobhan Live program from Phuket.
