Thrifty Renews Support for ASTA Congress and Travel Education

Travel News Asia 2 June 2005

For the fourth consecutive year, Thrifty Car Rental is awarding travel educators free registration to the American Society of Travel Agents' (ASTA) World Travel Congress, to be held this year in Montral, November 6-11. Thrifty will give the first 100 travel educators to submit a registration form (https://www.astanet.com/conference/cg05/cg05registration-educator.pdf) complimentary Congress registration.

"We are thrilled that Thrifty has chosen to renew its commitment to travel educators. Education is so important to one's success as a travel professional. Thanks to the generosity of Thrifty, a hundred travel educators will again have the chance to come to Congress, participate in all our great seminars, and take what they have learned back to their students," said ASTA 2005 World Congress Chair Deb Mangas, CTC.

"Thrifty realizes the travel educator community is essential to the future of the travel agent industry. This program is just one of the ways in which Thrifty shows its appreciation for those who keep agents looking forward and building new paths to success. We at Thrifty want to ensure a bright future for tomorrow's agents," Scarlete Pelfrey, director of industry sales for Thrifty.

Educators must make their own travel and lodging arrangements.

Thrifty also will also hold a photography session at Congress, during which time delegates can have their pictures taken for free. All proceeds from the photo session will benefit ASTA's Scholarship Fund.
