Search ASIA Travel Tips .com 25 April 2005

Capitalising on the continued development of Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard, the Amari Orchid Resort is to open a new wing in late 2006, the Ocean Tower. The building, with its distinctive shape, is set to become a notable feature on the Pattaya skyline.

The new wing with 300 rooms in deluxe and junior suite categories will target the corporate sector. Guests will be able to enjoy a modern and innovative design with an open bathroom concept, as well as WiFi in every room. The executive floors and its exclusive lounge will provide a boutique hotel, within the wing. Additional facilities will include Essence, an all day dining restaurant, the Ice bar, an additional swimming pool (50 metre lap pool) and a Sivara Spa.

In addition a freestanding convention center, will complete the services available to the corporate sector. This is surrounded by water so that it appears to be “floating” on a lake. The convention center houses a 400 square metre pillarless ballroom with a pre-function area. The suite of 5 medium sized meeting rooms in the Ocean Tower can be used as break out rooms or for smaller functions.

Other new developments at the resort include the opening a new specialty restaurant, Mantra, which will combine the dining and preparation experience with live cooking stations featuring Japanese, Indian, Asian and Mediterranean cuisine.
