Qatar Airways signs Codeshare deal with All Nippon Airways

Travel News Asia 25 April 2005

Qatar Airways and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have finalised a strategic codeshare agreement.

The new strategic codeshare partnership, which will see joint flight codes on the trunk route between Doha and Osaka and beyond to Tokyo Haneda Airport, Fukuoka and Sapporo.

“We are very pleased to have launched our newest service to Osaka in Japan, and are excited about our partnership with ANA. This partnership will extend both our route networks, and will ensure a streamlined service for ANA and Qatar Airways passengers travelling between the codeshare airports, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker said.

“Our partnership with ANA links not just two key markets, but offers the Japanese travelling public convenient connections to many exotic destinations via Doha to the Middle East, Levant, Seychelles, Maldives and Cape Town.

”Also, being able to connect to other airports within Japan on ANA, will smooth travel arrangements for travellers to Japan, be it business or leisure travel. With the codeshare arrangement in place, passengers will get just one ticket and code for each leg of the trip, reducing unnecessary paperwork and worry.”

ANA will place its two letter code NH on all Qatar Airways operated flights on the route between Doha and Osaka, and Qatar Airways will have its code QR on the domestic flights between Osaka Kansai and Tokyo Haneda, Fukuoka and Sapporo.

As part of the celebrations of the new launch and codeshare agreement, Qatar Airways is offering members of its Privilege Club frequent flyer programme with double miles for the first full month of the new service.

Privilege Club members travelling on domestic or international services of ANA are able to accrue Qmiles for later redemption on flights on the Qatar Airways network and partner airlines.
