Travel News Asia 24 November 2005

Travellers from Australia to London can now stop over in tropical Tahiti, thanks to a new partnership between Air Tahiti Nui and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

A novel and relaxing new way to London........via Tahiti

The commercial arrangement between the airlines effectively creates a new round-the-world itinerary by connecting their respective networks and offering Australian travel agents the opportunity to combine nett air fares from both carriers.

Air Tahiti Nui flies from Sydney to Tahiti, with onward services to New York City and to Paris via Los Angeles.

Virgin Atlantic’s network includes flights from Los Angeles and New York to London Heathrow, and from Sydney to London, via Hong Kong.

“Travel is all about different experiences,” said Craig Lee, Regional Manager Australia for Air Tahiti Nui.

“Through our new relationship with Virgin Atlantic, travellers to London now have the opportunity to break their journey not only in the USA, but also in Tahiti, which is arguably the world’s most romantic and relaxing destination.”

The Air Tahiti Nui/Virgin Atlantic partnership offers a wide range of new travel routings between Australia and London. Suggested itineraries include:

Option 1: Sydney – Papeete – Los Angeles - London – New York – Papeete – Sydney.
Option 2: Sydney – Papeete – New York – London – Los Angeles – Papeete – Sydney.
Option 3: Sydney – Papeete – Los Angeles – Paris, own arrangements from Paris to London, then London – New York – Papeete – Sydney.
Option 4: Sydney – Hong Kong – London – New York – Papeete – Sydney.
Option 5: Sydney – Hong Kong – London, own arrangements from London to Paris, then Paris – Los Angeles – Papeete – Sydney.

“Virgin Atlantic Airways and Air Tahiti Nui are both high quality international carriers,” said Gia Acitelli, Virgin Atlantic‘s Sales and Marketing Manager, Australia.

“Together, our new flight options between Australia and London, via Tahiti, the USA and Paris, add a range of fresh travel options, and a strong point of difference in a very competitive market.”

Air Tahiti Nui offers five flights per week from Australia – two non-stop flights from Sydney to Papeete, and three one-stop services via Auckland. Virgin Atlantic Airways flies daily from Sydney to London.

The Air Tahiti Nui – Virgin Atlantic cooperative nett air fares are available for sale and travel from now until 30 June, 2006. Seats are limited and some conditions apply.
