Shangri-La to open Hotel in Mongolia

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is to open a new hotel in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of the Republic of Mongolia, the end of 2007. It will be Shangri-La's first hotel in the Republic of Mongolia and the country's first hotel by an international hotel group.

A joint venture between Shangri-La Asia Limited and MCS Holding, Mongolia, the 190-room hotel will be a part of an office, retail and hotel complex, which is located at the east side of the Sukhe-Bator Square, between the City Theatre and Peace Avenue, in the centre of Ulaanbaatar city.

The modern hotel will feature various dining and entertainment options including an all-day restaurant, Chinese restaurant, theme outlet, bar and lobby lounge. The meeting and banqueting facilities will include a 1,200-square-metre grand ballroom, and 640 square metres of function rooms. Recreational facilities such as indoor swimming pool, health club and spa, will also be available.
