Alain Brière has been appointed
Area Director of Sales and Marketing of Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. In this position, Mr Brière manages and oversees the Sales and
Marketing Division, comprising of Sales, Events Management, MICE and Communications. He will report directly to Vice President and General Manager of the hotel,
Philippe Caretti.
Before joining Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, Mr. Brière, a French national, held senior management positions with luxury hotel groups throughout Europe, including Le
Meridien Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Hotels.
A 30-year sales and marketing veteran within the hospitality industry, Mr. Brière
will also oversee the Shangri-La Hotels in Hangzhou and Shenzhen.
In July 2005, the
Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, will unveil an additional 375 rooms and suites, a range of trend-setting restaurants and bars, an
additional pillarless Ballroom, Chi – The Spa at Shangri-La, an extra Health Club and glassed in outdoor swimming pool, as part of its
US$135 million expansion
programme.
