Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts and Johor Corporation to end Current Business Partnership

Travel News Asia 24 October 2005

Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts and Johor Corporation have announced plans to end the management contract for the Puteri Pan Pacific Johor Bahru. With effect from 1 January 2006, management of the property will revert back to the owning company.

With the impending opening of the Persada Johor Convention Centre in 2006, the direction of both parties is diverging and so the companies have come to an amicable agreement to end the current management contract on 31st December 2005. “It has been a good 16 years of partnership between Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts and Johor Corporation. But now it is time for both companies to pursue their own interests” said Mr Aki Takei, Senior Vice President of Operations, Sales and Marketing for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts.

In the next two months, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts will be working closely with the owners to ensure a smooth transition. As for the current team in the hotel, Mr Takei said, “The current Pan Pacific team at Johor Bahru is a strong team and they will be valuable assets to the new management.”
