Galaxy appoints new Senior VP - Chief Sales Officer

Travel News Asia 22 June 2005

Galaxy Travel Distribution System has appointed Mr. Myron J. Ticlo as Senior Vice President – Chief Sales Officer (CSO).

Effective immediately, Ticlo, who is currently Galaxy’s Regional Director of Sales for the Americas, replaces Mr. Marco Gorin, who recently resigned to pursue other corporate opportunities in Hong Kong.

Assuming the title of Senior Vice President – Chief Sales Officer (CSO), Ticlo will lead and implement the company’s sales strategies on a global basis to achieve Galaxy TDS sales targets. His responsibilities will include building relationships and providing sales leadership with regional NMCs to achieve Retail Travel Agency sales, while enhancing relationships with Galaxy suppliers and major existing clients and prospects.

In addition, Ticlo will continue to help build the company’s highly successful relationship with Connect-Worldwide (CWW) which enhances Galaxy presence worldwide, particularly in countries where Galaxy is not represented.

In support of Galaxy’s vision, Ticlo will also strive to position Galaxy as a global, low-cost GDS system for Ground Services, while attracting major players that provide supply and distribution to endorse Galaxy and work together as partners.

Prior to joining Galaxy in 2001, Ticlo served as Executive Director for Pacific Leisure, Bangkok, Thailand. From January 1998 to the present, he has spent considerable time successfully attracting private investors to Galaxy Distribution System. Before entering the travel industry in Asia Pacific in 1998, Ticlo spent over 20 years in the fields of banking, finance and marketing.

Ticlo earned an MBA from La Salle University (USA) in 1997 and a BA degree in management from Webster University (USA) in 1985.
