Thai Airways International launches Fare Promotion on new New York service

Thai Airways International is to launch its new service between Bangkok and New York on 1 May 2005, utilizing its new Airbus 340-500 aircraft.

THAI currently serves the U.S. with 4 weekly flights to Los Angeles. The airline's new New York service will operate six times weekly, Tuesday through Sunday, with TG 790 departing Bangkok at 00:40 arriving in New York at 06:35. The return leg from New York, TG 791, departs at 12:00 arriving in Bangkok at 16:10 the following day.

THAI has launched a special fare promotion on the new route for passengers issuing tickets between today and 30 June 2005 as follows (prices in Thai Baht):

The new Airbus 340-500 with 215 seats offers passengers a greater level of comfort and is configured with:

- Royal Silk Class: 60 seats, seating offers 60-inch (five feet) pitch, with 170 degree recline for sleeping in 2-2-2 configuration. 
- Premium Economy Class: 42 seats, seating offers 43-inch pitch in 2-3-2 configuration and 135 degree recline with leg rest. 
- Economy Class: 113 seats, seating offers 37-inch pitch in 2-4-2 configuration and 125 degree recline with foot rest.

Inflight entertainment, presented in video on demand with a 10.4 inch screen in Royal Silk Class and an 8.4 inch screen in Premium Economy and Economy Class, includes various channels for passengers with a selection of 30 films, 70 documentary films, news from the world's top news agencies, and even video language lessons including Thai.

To celebrate the airline's 72nd destination, THAI is offering special bonus mileage points for Royal Orchid Plus members. ROP members who fly THAI flights on the route Bangkok - New York in Royal Silk Class will receive 150% mileage points and those flying Premium Economy Class will receive 125% mileage points. This promotion is valid through 31 July 2005. In addition, ROP members who redeem mileage points for air tickets routed Bangkok - New York v.v. issued now until 15 August 2005 will also receive a 25% discount.

To follow the rules and regulations of security measures for those who travel to the U.S., passengers should arrive at the airport for their departure flight at least 3 hours before the departure time and go to check-in counter 14, Terminal 2, at Bangkok International Airport. In addition to normal restrictions passengers are not allowed to carry lighters and any sharp materials in their handbag or baggage.
