Sheraton Brisbane re-branded to Sofitel Brisbane

Travel News Asia 2 February 2005

The Sheraton signs have come down after 20 years on the Brisbane skyline and the American hotel group has made way for French-based Accor, whose prestige Sofitel brand is introduced to Brisbane from today.

One of Brisbane's most renowned international hotels is set to get a fresh new look over the next six months with a new-look lobby and the introduction of Accor's - 'My Bed' - to the Sofitel's rooms.

To celebrate the launch of the Sofitel Brisbane, the hotel is offering a special "So, So Sofitel" Opening Package that provides a taste of France, with a bottle of Mumm champagne, overnight accommodation in a Classic room and full buffet breakfast for two at Sidewalk Cafe for just AUD$269 per room per night. This package is valid until 30 April 2005 and is subject to availability.

Sofitel Brisbane is located above Central Station, which provides direct access from Brisbane's airport terminals and allows easy transport to Queensland's regional locations such as the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Facilities at the Sofitel Brisbane include a choice of five restaurants and bars, heated outdoor pool and spa, fitness centre and the largest hotel conference and function facilities in the city.
