KLM to adjust Fuel and Security Surcharges

Travel News Asia 2 December 2005

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines intends to adjust the fuel surcharge on tickets worldwide effective December 21, 2005, in response to the downward trend in oil prices. The airline intends to reduce the surcharge by EUR 1 per stretch (coupon) within Europe, and by EUR 5 per coupon within its intercontinental network. That means the fuel surcharge will amount to EUR 12 per stretch within Europe, and EUR 33 per stretch within the intercontinental network.

In addition, KLM will, with immediate effect, raise the security surcharge on all tickets by EUR 2 per stretch, to cover extra security measures that have been taken. The total security surcharge per stretch will amount to EUR 7.
