Plans for the 2006 Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS 2006) are being finalised with next year’s 14th annual event set to break all records with over 90% of exhibitor space already booked, and over 25,000 visitors anticipated.

Booming Marine Industry Gears Up for Biggest Ever Dubai International Boat Show

The show, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), will take place from 14 – 18 March 2006 at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi, and is expected to once again generate multi-million dollar business deals for the booming Middle East marine industry.

“Dubai is now firmly established on the marine calendar alongside the other global boat shows. DIBS 2006 will not only be welcoming established visitors from local GCC countries, but there will also be many new visitors coming from the emerging markets of India and Russia,” said Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.

The 2006 Dubai International Boat Show will see more than 120 boats on the water, and will be the largest gathering of leisure boats, equipment and associated services in the Middle East.

For local manufacturers and dealers DIBS 2006 will be the focal point of the business year, and gives each company the opportunity to showcase their fleet of boats, equipment and products to a world-wide, captive audience.

Companies from the major exporting nations of Australia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the UK and the USA have also booked their places at DIBS 2006, which will ensure local and regional buyers have the widest selection of products.

More than 30,000 leisure craft are used in the Gulf and increasingly residents and commercial organisations are looking at ways to enjoy boating and marine related activities on the region’s warm waters.

“As the Gulf region develops as a prominent boating centre, so does the Dubai International Boat Show. The waterfront developments in Dubai are expanding at a rapid rate and this is fuelling interest in all water activity,” added Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri.
