Marco Polo Hotel Group renews Reservation and Voice Services with Pegasus Solutions

Travel News Asia 2 November 2005

The Marco Polo Hotel Group has renewed its agreement to use Pegasus’ private-label reservation services and call center services with an aim to further increasing the hotel group’s business from the global distribution systems (GDSs) used by travel agents around the world. The group has also added the RateChecker service to monitor its competitors’ rates.

Currently, seven Marco Polo properties use Pegasus’ services, including hotels in Hong Kong, Beijing, Xiamen, China, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Davao, Philippines. Marco Polo is represented on the global distribution systems (GDSs) used by travel agents through the MH chain code. The properties use Pegasus’ RezView central reservation system (CRS) and are displayed on more than 1,000 web sites through Pegasus’ electronic distribution service. Pegasus’ call centers around the world represent the Marco Polo group, with agents answering calls for the hotel properties and assisting travelers and travel agents with reservations.

“Our marketing strategy has always been fast to adapt and capitalize on the diverse travel distribution framework. Pegasus is a global distribution leader. Their service delivery teams help us identify and implement programs to meet our revenue goals. We are very pleased with their services and delighted to continue our distribution partnership with them,” said Jeff Flowers, president of Marco Polo. “We will continue to maximize the e-distribution channels to further increase our production and optimize profitability.”
