ASTA boosts 'See You in Asia 2005'

Travel News Asia 21 January 2005

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) is boosting its "See You in Asia" marketing program in 2005. "See You in Asia" promotes Asian destinations directly to consumers through a fall newspaper supplement and Web site.

"This annual consumer marketing program provides ASTA with a powerful opportunity to underscore the importance of the travel agent to U.S. consumers as they plan and book travel to the many wonderful destinations in Asia," said ASTA President and CEO Kathy Sudeikis, CTC. "In addition, the 'See You in Asia' Web site links directly to a listing of ASTA travel agents who specialize in Asian travel."

For more than five years, the "See You in Asia" marketing program has brought together Asian destinations and the travel suppliers serving those destinations to raise awareness and drive outbound U.S. leisure travel to Asia. The program includes a 32-page, four-color print supplement that is inserted into September 2005 issues of IUSA Today, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and Travel Agent magazine.

In addition, the program Web site, www.seeyouinasia.com, features a searchable database of ASTA travel agents, detailed destination information, and travel offers from airlines, hotels and tour operators.
