Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts has
appointed Werner Senft as its new Director of Sales and Marketing for Le Méridien Thailand Resorts,
Bangkok, replacing Catherine Magat.
Werner, a German national, began his hospitality career as a tour leader with German and Swiss tour operators in 1980 and moved to Asia in the 1990’s. Between 1997
and 2001, he worked with local and international hotel chains and tour operators in Thailand. His experience in the Thai market has given him extensive knowledge of
the Thai tourism industry.
Prior to this appointment, Werner worked as Director of Marketing for the Hotel Borobudur Jakarta in Indonesia, where he successfully increased occupancy and total
revenue by 15% within a year, despite the challenging market environment.
“I am delighted to join Le Méridien and look forward to improving the market position of these fantastic properties. Each hotel has its own unique character and the tasks
ahead will allow me to put my knowledge and experience to use,” said Werner Senft, Director of Sales and Marketing, Le Méridien Thailand Resorts.
