CR Airways signs up with Abacus Direct Connect Sell services

Travel News Asia 19 December 2005

CR Airways Limited (N8), a Hong Kong based carrier, has signed on to Abacus' Direct Connect Sell (DCS) distribution services.

Through the Abacus DCS service, CR Airways has the power to exercise point-of-sale quota allocation and control its flight inventory, allowing CR Airways to increase its booking potential, maximise its revenue and better manage the business costs.

From mid December, CR Airways will offer Full Availability and AnswerBack on Abacus systems with DCS implementation to follow in February.

Full Availability allows travel agents access to the airline flight schedule and seat availability. Abacus AnswerBack provides travel agents with the added confidence of an acknowledgement reply from the airline with a record locator.

“Our focus this year was to expand our offerings to our passengers and customers, and to sign with a Global Distribution Systems that has the regional reach and the strong partnerships with the travel and leisure industry to assist us to continue to grow our business and Abacus was the ideal choice” said Mrs Virginia Yuen, Director of Sales of CR Airways.

CR Airways provides charter and scheduled services from Hong Kong to destinations include Nanning, Jinan, Haikou, Sanya, Guilin and Kunming in China as well as Laoag and Clark in the Philippines.
