Brunei's Empire Hotel & Country Club joins WORLDHOTELS’ Deluxe Collection

Travel News Asia 1 September 2005

Brunei’s Empire Hotel & Country Club is the latest new member of WORLDHOTELS.

The spectacular resort spread over 180 hectares (445 acres) of manicured tropical gardens today joined the hotel sales, marketing and distribution organisation, as a Deluxe Collection member.

Overlooking the South China Sea and incorporating a floodlit Jack Nicklaus-designed championship golf course, the 360-room resort with 63 lavish suites and palatial villas is renowned as one of the most opulent in Asia.

Counting royalty, heads of state and famous celebrities including former US President Bill Clinton among guests, it recently hosted the inaugural Brunei Open 2005 golf tournament, contested on the Asian Tour.

Anne Busfield, General Manager of The Empire Hotel and Country Club said, “Our decision to partner with WORLDHOTELS for global marketing and distribution was made because of the company’s special focus on the regional market as well as the meetings and incentives segment, both of which are especially important to us.”

Recreational and leisure amenities at the resort include a theatre and modern Cineplex comprising three movie halls screening the latest releases, floodlit tennis, badminton, squash, fitness centre, ten-pin bowling, billiards and snooker.

There is also a spa, offering a wide range of pampering massages and beauty treatments.
