SAS to launch one-way fares in Europe

Travel News Asia 18 August 2005

SAS is to introduce one-way fares to and from European destinations. Tickets will be sold as one-way tickets and can be combined without restriction to form return tickets. Complicated rules, such as the demand that passengers must stay away over a Saturday or Sunday, have been eliminated.

Sales of the new European tickets will commence on September 1. It will be possible to book the tickets by telephone, through travel agencies or on the Internet, where it will be easy to see what prices are available for each departure. SAS's German destinations will be included in this offer from January 2006.

"This is a further step in our commercial activities and we are following up on the success of one-way fares in Norway and Sweden by introducing the same concept on all European routes," said Jørgen Lindegaard, President and CEO of the SAS Group.
