Dragonair took delivery of its 27th passenger aircraft, and its 11th wide-bodied A330, at Airbus' headquarters in Toulouse, France, today.

“This A330 is the first new aircraft to join our fleet this year, and will allow us to offer even more choice to our customers and even greater comfort and amenities,” said Chief Executive Officer Stanley Hui. “It features a number of new features, including personal entertainment monitors in all seats. We are planning to operate the aircraft on services to Tokyo.”

The aircraft, which is leased from International Lease Finance Corporation, is powered by two Rolls-Royce RR Trent 772B engines and has a two-class cabin configuration, with seating for 42 passengers in Business, and 273 in Economy Class. It is capable of carrying 15 tonnes of freight with a full passenger load.

“This latest aircraft is the first of four passenger planes that Dragonair will take delivery of this year, which will take our passenger fleet to 30,” said Mr. Hui.

One A320 is scheduled for delivery in April, followed by one A330 in May and another in October.
