Tiger Airways launches Flights between Chiang Mai and Singapore

Travel News Asia 18 February 2005

Tiger Airways, a low cost airline based in Singapore, today launches regular scheduled flights between Singapore and Chiang Mai. The airline will offer four flights a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

CEO of Tiger Airways, Tony Davis, said, “Chiang Mai is a very popular tourist destination for Singaporeans because it’s rich in traditional Lanna culture, has great weather, and most of all, has unbeatable sight-seeing in the nearby hills and mountains.”

“Singapore is also a very popular destination for both business and leisure travelers from Thailand. So, we’re thrilled to commence our scheduled flights between these two markets, and provide the best value in the industry.”

“To celebrate the launch of our new route, we offered 3000 seats at a special airfare starting from 249Baht (one way) for the Singapore-Chiang Mai route. The same special fare was also launched in Chiang Mai, enabling more people from Chiang Mai to travel to Singapore. We are committed to offering low air fares to spur the growth of budget travel in the region,” said Davis.

To launch Tiger Airways inaugural flight from Singapore to Chiang Mai today, Tiger Airways has given away 200 free tickets to Singaporeans for travel to Chiang Mai. The airline will also organize road shows in Chiang Mai giving away free tickets as prizes for travel to Singapore next week.
