New Appointments at WORLDHOTELS

WORLDHOTELS has made the following promotions and recruited some new faces as it expands within Asia.

Virginia Wu, who has been with WORLDHOTELS for seven years has been promoted to Senior Director of Business Development Asia Pacific.

In her new role, she oversees the business development team located in Shanghai and Singapore, while taking charge of all contractual matters with Asia Pacific member hotels.

After five years with the company, Rachel Tan has been promoted to Office Manager of WORLDHOTELS’ Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters in Singapore, overseeing human resources and office administration as well as finance for the region. She is supported by Administrative Assistant Medelyn Phon.

Newly appointed as Senior Director of Sales Asia Pacific managing the group’s four Sales Offices and satellite offices in Singapore, Hong Kong/Shanghai, Sydney/Auckland and Tokyo is Singaporean Christina Spykerman.

With a staff of 12, she takes responsibility for generating new demand and initiatives for WORLDHOTELS in the region.

Her focus will also be on the implementation of new corporate strategies including "Be Connected" for the travel trade, and "Corporate Power" for MNA / corporate accounts.

Ms Spykerman was previously with OAG, Millenium Copthorne Hotels, Star Cruises and Hyatt, where she managed the sales teams.

Irin Ng, previously with Novotel and Amari Hotels in Thailand, has been appointed Sales & Group Coordinator. A graduate of the Swiss Hotel School Les Roches, she oversees the ‘WORLDHOTELS.Events Desk Asia’, the new group and MICE RFP product, and assists the Sales Office Asia in Singapore.

Also joining, as a Management Trainee Asia Pacific, is Cornell University graduate Ms Sonali Deuskar.
