Hertz Australia expands with Five New Locations on Kangaroo Island

Travel News Asia 17 February 2005

Hertz has expanded its Australian operations with five new rental locations in the wilderness destination of Kangaroo Island, South Australia.

An extensive selection of brand new vehicles is now available from Kingscote downtown, Kingscote Airport, Kingscote Wharf, American River and Penneshaw Wharf.

These range from compact automatic, full-size sedans and station wagons to 4WDs, minivans and a 12-seat minibus for group touring.

Remote rates apply for all Kangaroo Island vehicle rentals other than 4WD, for which specific pricing applies.

“Kangaroo Island is a unique destination, with a vast range of native animals and plants attracting a growing number of domestic and international visitors,” said Mr. Brad Smith, Director of Licensee Operations for Hertz Australia.

“The Island is also an important and exciting addition to the Hertz Australia network, which now offers more than 220 locations across the country and continues to grow.”

Hertz has appointed experienced rental and touring executive Mr. Geoff Christiansen as its licensee for the Island. Mr. Christiansen has extensive experience in the Australian tourism industry, and a strong understanding of the domestic and international inbound markets.
