Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort is gearing up for the festive season with a host of events and activities planned for the month of December.

The East Coast hotel, which was recently named the Middle East’s Leading Beach Resort at the World Travel Awards in London, will be transformed into a winter wonderland featuring special decorations, a giant Christmas tree, ginger bread house and thousands of sparkling lights, creating a truly festive setting in which families can spend the holidays.

“Our holiday activities are designed to take the hard work out of the holidays, bringing families together to share some of the most wonderful seasonal traditions in an atmosphere of sunshine and relaxation. We look forward to making this Christmas and New Year memorable for all our guests,” said Patrick Antaki, general manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

Holiday festivities will begin on 15 December at 6 pm, with a tree lighting ceremony followed by traditional carol singing by Fujairah’s very own Cantible choir and the hotel’s staff choir as well. On the same day, the hotel is organizing a children’s carnival from 2pm - 6pm. For AED 65, kids can enjoy carol singing, Christmas pop songs, bouncy castles, face painting, and, of course, holiday treats such as candy floss, popcorn and Christmas pies.

A special Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas brunch will be served at Views restaurant, with traditional favorites on the menu, including roast goose turkey with all the trimmings such as chestnuts and sweet potatoes, rib-eye steak with Yorkshire pudding and special seafood dishes.

On New Year’s Eve, the celebrations will begin with a cocktail party hosted by Patrick Antaki for all guests, followed by a gala dinner in the Hajar Ballroom, which can be enjoyed for just AED 800 (inclusive of a selection of wines, regular spirits, mineral-water and soft drinks). Entertainment will include ‘Bravo’, a Russian band, belly dancers and world-famous table magician, Bruce Smith, who will entertain guests throughout the night. At midnight, guests will be treated to a special fireworks display on the Al Aqah beach.
