Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific to manage new Hotel in Bangkok

Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific is to manage a second new hotel in Thailand - The Park Plaza Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok. Scheduled to open first quarter 2006, the property will be the first Park Plaza branded hotel in Thailand.

Owned by Asoke Park, the 15-storey boutique hotel has been designed specifically for the business travel market. The Park Plaza Sukhumvit Hotel will be situated on Asoke Ratchadaphisek Road, near the Sukhumvit-Asoke junction.

President and managing director for Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, Paul Kirwin, commented: “We are pleased to announce the signing of the Park Plaza hotel, following on from the new Regent Bangkok, announced less than two months ago. Bangkok is an extremely important gateway city and its hotel industry is strengthening.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Asoke Sky Train, Sukhumvit Subway, and Queen Sirikit Convention Centre, and roughly 30 minutes from Bangkok International Airport.

The Park Plaza Sukhumvit Hotel will comprise 89 guest rooms – 13 standard, 26 deluxe, 12 standard twin double and 38 executive deluxe. The contemporary hotel will feature a state-of-the-art gymnasium, roof-top pool, executive lounge and lobby business centre. All guest rooms will be equipped with a printer, scanner, fax and wireless broadband.
