Rapid Expansion for Dollar Rent A Car in Middle East

Travel News Asia 16 June 2005

Dollar Rent A Car announced today that it plans to open 5 new outlets in the UAE within the next two months.

“Our aggressive expansion plan in the region continues to gain momentum and the locations chosen for our new outlets reflect our strategy, aimed at capturing market share across the Emirates,” said Sumit Chopra, general manager, Dollar Rent A Car.

The new Dollar Rent A Car outlets will be located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Airport-Terminal 1, Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah, and the Green Community in Dubai. Fully-operational outlets can already be found on the Sheikh Zayed Road, Bur Dubai, Deira, Karama, and the Dubai International Airport-Terminal 2.

Visitors to Dubai during this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) can also enjoy a 60 per cent discount across a broad spectrum of vehicles, when they visit any of the Dollar Rent A Car outlets.

“Events such as the Dubai Summer Surprises are certain to attract an influx of short-term visitors to Dubai from the GCC and neighbouring countries. As a relatively new entrant into the region’s competitive car rental market, we are determined to capitalize on this spike in demand by ensuring that we have the necessary resources, vehicles and presence to offer quality car rental services and value for money,” added Chopra.

Dollar’s fleet of cars in the UAE has already reached 850 and is poised to grow significantly in 2005 to almost 1500. In addition, Dollar intends to appoint new franchisees in Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan to meet their growth targets in the coming months.
