Travel News Asia 16 March 2005

Hertz Yemen has appointed Noor Ashraf to the position of General Manager.

With an MBA in Marketing and Operations Management from India’s Aligarh Muslim University, Ashraf brings to the company 15 years of transport industry experience.

Ashraf joins Hertz Yemen from Road Transport, India, where he spent the last 15 years as a manager and previously worked in the consumer durables and banking industries.

Ashraf’s past experience includes managing a fleet of more than 100 vehicles and a work force of 1,500 employees and he will be using this know-how to boost productivity and service levels at Hertz Yemen.

“The quality of our vehicles and attitude of our drivers is paramount and these are the two areas I will be concentrating on in the initial stages of my new role,” Ashraf said. “My goal is to have the most motivated, best-trained employees, driving the youngest fleet in the market,” he said.

Earlier this year, Hertz Yemen added a range of new Hyundai vehicles to its fleet. Among the new cars are the 2005-models Hyundai Accent, Sonata and Santa Fe, which will cater to customers with various needs and budgets.
