Marriott appoints Three New Corporate Officers

Marriott International has appointed three new corporate officers: Amy C. McPherson, executive vice president, sales and marketing; James C. Fisher, senior vice president, owner and franchise services; and Norman K. Jenkins, senior vice president, development for North America.

Amy McPherson, as executive vice president of sales and marketing, is responsible for the companys global sales, marketing, revenue management, reservation sales and e-commerce efforts. McPherson joined Marriott in 1986, and most recently served as senior vice president of global revenue management and reservation sales. In this capacity, she directed worldwide activities related to pricing and selling strategies, inventory management and systems development, as well as reservations at Marriotts customer contact centers.

Other key positions held by McPherson include senior vice president of business transformation and integration, where she developed the strategic business plan for ExecuStay, Marriotts corporate housing brand, and vice president of finance and business development. She is a graduate of James Madison University and holds a bachelors degree in business management and economics, as well as a masters degree in business administration from the College of William & Mary.

James Fisher, as senior vice president of owner and franchise services, is responsible for leading a team that interacts with a number of the larger and more active multiple unit owners and operators of Marriott-branded hotels. Also reporting to Fisher are the full service franchise operations, growth administration and contract administration departments.

Fisher, who has been with Marriott 23 years, previously served as senior vice president for international lodging development, senior vice president for lodging development, vice president of mergers and acquisitions, and vice president for development. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Marietta College and his Master of Professional Studies from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.

Norman Jenkins, as senior vice president for North American lodging development, is responsible for leading all development efforts related to minority hotel ownership. He oversees Marriotts recently enhanced Diversity Ownership Initiatives, which has been designed to continue Marriotts leadership in attracting top tier minority owners and franchisees. Marriott is committed to doubling the number of properties owned by minorities over the next five years. 

Joining Marriott in 1992, Jenkins most recently served as vice president of owner & franchise services, where he was the primary interface between Marriott and its multi-unit hotel owners and franchisees. Earlier, Jenkins was vice president of global operations and chief financial officer of Marriotts Ramada International division. Jenkins serves on a number of boards, including the National Association of Black Accountants, where he is national president and CEO, and the Howard University School of Business Accounting Advisory Board. He holds a bachelors degree in accounting from Howard University and a masters degree from the George Washington University, and is a certified public accountant.
