Central Hotels and Resorts of Thailand add Sixth Hotel to Utell by Pegasus Representation Service

Travel News Asia 15 July 2005

Pegasus Solutions has expanded its relationship with Central Hotels and Resorts. The Bangkok-based chain has added its newest property, the four-star Central Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai, to its roster of hotels using the Utell by Pegasus representation service. The properties gain bookings from the global distribution systems (GDSs) used by travel agents, as well as through Internet channels and Pegasus’ worldwide voice reservations centers.

The Duangtawan Hotel joined the Central Hotels and Resorts chain in January 2005. A modern 500-room hotel located in the center of Chiang Mai, the hotel is close to the city’s famous Night Bazaar market. The Duangtawan Hotel joins five other hotels in the Central Hotels chain which can now be booked via the UI GDS code on all major GDSs:

* Central Karon Village, Phuket
* Central Waterfront Suites, Phuket
* Central Samui Beach Resort, Samui Island
* Central Samui Village, Samui Island
* Central Wong Amat Beach Resort, Pattaya (currently under major renovation and will be available for booking from 2007 onwards).

“The Utell by Pegasus service continues to provide a steady stream of bookings to our hotels,” said Mr. Natapong Jantavetsiri, group director of sales and marketing, Central Hotels and Resorts. “Our ability to alter rates and promotions at our hotels and have that information quickly uploaded to global distribution outlets has been critical to our growth in recent years. We give a good deal of the credit to the Utell service, which gives our hotels international presence at reasonable distribution costs.”
