Travel News Asia 15 June 2005

Jean Cyril Spinetta, Chairman and CEO of Air France, and Denis Ranque, Chairman and CEO of Thales, signed a contract at the Paris Air Show, Wednesday, to equip Air France's fleet of A380s (10 aircraft with an option for a further 4) with Thales in-flight entertainment systems.

With the TopSeries i5000 from Thales, Air France will pursue its development of an extensive range of on-demand audio and video programming to serve a diverse customer base with content from multiple sources.

"Simple and easy to use, the TopSeries i5000 offers our customers a broad choice of programming. We will be equipping the A380s on our Montreal and New York routes first, followed by Beijing and Tokyo, with 538 passengers on board," said Air France Chairman and CEO Jean Cyril Spinetta.

Designed for maximum reliability and usability, the TopSeries i5000 is one of the most technologically advanced in-flight entertainment systems on the market.
