Gulf Air secures more Accommodation for Bahrain Formula One

Travel News Asia 15 March 2005

More die-hard Formula One race fans can now enjoy the full four days of build up to the 2005 Gulf Air Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix next month following Gulf Air’s announcement that it has secured additional accommodation in the Kingdom from 31st March to 3rd April.

According to Mark Senior, Manager, Leisure and Destination Services demand for four day packages from around the Gulf Air network has already exceeded last year’s levels.

“We are delighted that interest in visiting Bahrain – still a new destination on the F1 circuit – continues to grow,” he said. “Our partnership with the Bahrain International Circuit, as title sponsor has resulted in us being able to secure around 100 more rooms in order to meet the increased demand, which we will offer as Gulf Air F1 package holidays.”

“While we expect a significant percentage of these packages to be purchased by fans outside the region, we hope that those in the GCC and Middle East will also be interested in visiting the country and even combine some rest and relaxation with the excitement of the race itself,“ he added.

Prices start from US$ 720 for a four night, five day package inclusive of: return economy Class flights, four nights’ accommodation in a hallmark hotel, on a room only or bed and breakfast basis, meet and greet service on arrival, return seat in coach transfers from Bahrain International Airport to hotel, return seat in coach transfers from hotel to Bahrain International Circuit and tickets for the Victory Grandstand for Friday 1 April - Sunday 3 April 2005 inclusive. Seats can also be arranged for the University Grandstand, Turn 1 Grandstand, Main Grandstand or Oasis Grandstand.

The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix schedule is as follows:

1 April: Practice rounds
2 April: Practice and Qualifying rounds
3 April: The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2005 main race
