Shangri-La Hotels &
Resorts has appointed Katey Matthews as director of sales and marketing for Australia and New Zealand.
Based in the Sydney regional sales office, Ms. Matthews reports to Austin Frost, vice president, international sales. Ms. Matthews oversees the sales and marketing
operations for the group in Australia and New Zealand.
Ms. Matthews has more than 23 years experience in the travel industry. Before joining the Shangri-La group, for five years she provided sales and marketing consulting
services to clients including Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces and The Observatory Hotel in Sydney. Previously, Ms. Matthews held senior sales and marketing positions,
including seven years as director of sales, Asia Pacific with Amanresorts International and five years with The Leading Hotels of the World.
"Ms. Matthews joins at a time of rapid development at Shangri-La, including the opening of two Australian hotels in the last two years," said Austin Frost. "Ms. Matthew's
wealth of experience will be invaluable in strengthening the group's position in Australia and New Zealand."
