The Comfort Inn and Suites, Flagstaff City, has opened in central Melbourne following total refurbishment of its rooms, meeting facilities, restaurant and bar.
The 40-room property, part of the Choice Hotels Group, is located in Dudley Street, West Melbourne, on the western edge of the central business and shopping district,
and close to tram, train and airport bus services. It is also a short distance from attractions including Telstra Dome, Crown Casino, the Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, the new
Docklands dining precinct and the Flagstaff Gardens.
“Our property was completely refurbished late in 2004, with the final touches added in the new year,” said Tristan Garratt, General Manager of the Comfort Inn and Suites,
Flagstaff City. “Not only did we recarpet, repaint and refurnish the property, we undertook significant structural changes to maximise space for our guests and meeting
delegates,” he said.
“The hotel now features self-contained studio apartments, all of which open onto a courtyard area. Most feature a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, hotplate and
sink, plus a new bathroom, King bed and television – ideal for business travellers or couples visiting the city, who prefer to cater for themselves.
“We also have six two-room family suites, each able to accommodate up to six guests. These rooms include a bathroom with oversized shower (two have corner spa), a
living room including a kitchenette with stove and range hood, a full-size refrigerator/ freezer and a microwave, again ideal for independent
travellers.”
The property has corporate function facilities that can accommodate up to 150 delegates. Dudley Hall divides into three smaller areas for business meetings, and all
rooms are equipped with data points and high speed internet connections.
The hotel also has a restaurant and bar/café, able to cater for meeting groups, and offers free room service. For added relaxation, there is a spa pool for guests.
Limited free parking is also available beneath the hotel.
