Coco Palm in the Maldives re-brands to make way for major developments in 2005

Travel News Asia 14 February 2005

Sunland Hotels, a fully owned Maldivian company known for owning and managing award winning Coco Palm Resort and Spa, is to re-brand and expand their Coco Palm resort portfolio. The re-branding will see a new division of Sunland Hotels being created, called the Coco Collection, which will represent a portfolio of unique and luxurious properties aimed at offering distinctive experiences.

Under the Coco Collection, Coco Palm Resort and Spa will be renamed Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu, the original name of the island. Two new resorts will join the collection, Coco Palm Bodu Hithi and Coco Palm Kuda Hithi. The re-branding, effective from 1 March 2005, will pave the way for major developments within the group over the coming years.

Coco Palm Budu Hithi will be a five star luxurious property and is set to open towards the end of 2005. Coco Palm Kuda Hithi will bring a new dimension of luxury to the Maldives as one of its smallest resorts. The island will be a world class luxury 8 villa all-residence resort, which will offer luxuriously appointed, spacious and unique villas in design and architecture, making it a serene retreat for connoisseurs. The resort is scheduled for completion in November 2005.
