Air Arabia launches flights to Kazakhstan

Sharjah-based low cost airline, Air Arabia, launched flights to Kazakhstan with the inaugural flight to Astana today to be followed by the first flight to Almaty on Wednesday 16th November 2005.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Air Arabia’s Chairman said, “Air Arabia is delighted to fly to Kazakhstan, part of the historic Silk Road and we look forward to assisting in the development of Almaty and Astana into burgeoning tourism and trade centres. We have a history of creating new destinations and we hope to do the same with our most recent destinations in Central Asia. We are committed to offering affordable travel to more people across the region and are very excited to extend our reach into this extraordinary region.”

Astana, the current capital of Kazakhstan and Almaty, the cultural centre, also the homeland of the Dutch tulip, offers large expanses of great scenic beauty and many rare animal and flower species. The travel opportunities are boundless, ranging from hiking across picturesque mountains and camping beside vast lakes to historic city tours. 

Air Arabia will fly 3 times a week to Kazakhstan. Weekly flights to Astana every Monday, depart Sharjah at 13:10, arriving in Astana at 19:25, departing Astana at 20:10 and arriving back in Sharjah at 22:45. Two flights a week to Almaty every Wednesday and Sunday, departing Sharjah at 13:10 to arrive in Almaty at 19:15, departing from Almaty at 20:00 to arrive back in Sharjah at 22:25.
