First Quarter Revenue Growth for Le Méridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort, Bali

Travel News Asia 12 April 2005

Le Méridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort, Bali has reported an unprecedented increase in the hotel’s first quarter revenue result with a healthy 180% growth in total revenue compared to the same period last year. Revpar, another key performance indicator (revenue per available room), showed an increase of 29% compared to the same period last year.

Encouraged by the growth from all geographic markets and in particular, Japan, Australia, Korea and European markets, the resort has achieved an increase in occupancy, average rate and overall profit margins in other operating departments.

This positive first quarter result was credited to considerable increase in the hotel’s market share. Key business successes for the quarter were in meetings and incentives, from tour operators and golf packages. The hotel said it will continue to work with agents, event organizers, tourism bodies and the Le Méridien global sales and marketing network to maintain growth and carry on the promotion of the resort as one of Asia’s leading resorts.

Another highlight for the first quarter was the resort winning the “Best Golf Resort” and “Best Golf Course” in Asia awarded by a panel of experts from Asian Golf Monthly magazine. On a summation of why the resort was awarded this accolade, Asian Golf Monthly judges said, “Le Méridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort is unmistakably Bali through and through and you don’t for a minute think you’re anywhere else in the world. Most importantly, you do not want to be anywhere else in the world.”
