CTC Holidays in Singapore Launches Travel Loft

Travel News Asia 12 January 2005

CTC Holidays today celebrated its 15th anniversary with the opening of its new four storey building on Mosque Street that houses Singapore’s first Travel Loft, offering customers with a new and unique travel planning and booking experience.

The Travel Loft, located on the second storey of CTC Holidays’ wholly owned building, has been set up to help customer experience a new level of comfort and convenience that is the first of its kind in Singapore. Situated within a comfortable, café like environment, the Travel Loft offers holiday makers access to a resource center where they can also make travel bookings and seek advice from friendly customer service personnel at a single location.

“Singapore’s first Travel Loft will make the process of researching and booking for holidays a lot easier and convenient,” says Ms Wee Hee Ling, Managing Director, CTC Holidays. “Customers can now make use of our vast resources, research materials and contacts from our offices around the world to plan for that perfect holiday at a single location.”

NATAS’ Chief Executive Officer, Mr Robert Khoo applauds CTC Holidays’ new service, "As the industry lead body, we have all along been stressing to our member travel agents about the need to innovate and value-add in order to remain relevant in today's fast-changing business environment. We are certainly glad that CTC has taken such bold steps to maintain their edge."

Singapore’s first Travel Loft

Situated over a floor space of 190.8sq/m, Singapore’s First Travel Loft is a one-stop-shop that provides all the relevant information and services any traveller will need to plan that perfect holiday. They can get information about various travel destinations, make hotel bookings and even access ticketing services at the Travel Loft.

When fully functional, the Travel Loft will be one of the only places in Singapore where travellers can access a wealth of travel resources including a video library, internet terminals, customer service personnel, various books and magazines in a café like environment. Holiday makers can choose to research and plan for their trip while savouring cakes and coffee at the café, relax at the cosy lounge area or bask in the warm sunshine at the rooftop terrace.

“At the moment, booking a holiday with other agencies is like eating at a crowded hawker center. You would have to look for a table that is finishing, stand behind the customers and take their seat when they leave, before someone else does. The Travel Loft offers customers with an experience comparable to dining at a café or an inexpensive restaurant,” adds Ms Wee.

CTC Holidays offers two briefing rooms within their premises, located within the Travel Loft, these briefing rooms are also used to conduct workshops and offer sneak previews of upcoming tour packages.

In addition, there is a merchandise corner where tourists can pick up useful travel items like travel adaptors, heat pads and travel bags.

“CTC Holidays aims to offer customers with an enhanced holiday decision making experience. This new concept is part of CTC Holidays’ continuous effort to find innovative new services that will help make life easier for our customers,” adds Ms Wee.
