Hong Kongs new Cosmopolitan Hotel joins WORLDHOTELS

Hong Kongs new Cosmopolitan Hotel, a stylish contemporary property with views over the Happy Valley Racecourse and the skyline of Causeway Bay, has joined WORLDHOTELS.

The Cosmopolitan, which joins as a member of WORLDHOTELS First Class Collection is built on the site of the former Xin Hua News Agency, Beijings de facto embassy before the Hong Kong handover in 1997.

The 454 room hotel which opened in February 2005, is located between the two lively commercial and shopping districts of Wanchai and Causeway Bay

The Times Square shopping and dining complex is just 8 minutes walk away, and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is easily reached by the hotels frequent complimentary shuttle bus service, which also serves other business districts including Central, Admiralty and Causeway Bay.

As a brand new hotel, The Cosmopolitans lobby sets the tone, featuring boutique-style European elegance with a contemporary twist.

Guestrooms, which are spaciously appointed and mostly offer views of the Happy Valley Racecourse and Hong Kongs glittering skyline feature light contemporary furnishings, broadband internet access, IDD and multi-language voice mail system, satellite, cable channels and pay movie sytems, as well as a state of the art massage shower cubicle in most rooms. All the hotels public areas also feature wireless broadband Internet access.

The hotel also offers a range of a unique signature Theme Suites, each of which is tailored to suit the different lifestyle needs of the hotels premium guests. These include the LG Suite for travellers who appreciate technology on the road, complete with a 42 in plasma TV and home theatre surround sound system: the OSIM Suite for those in need of some automated pampering, which features a bewildering array of no less than nine different massage machines and purifiers for good health, and the Toy Suite, ideal for families, which comes with a massive assortment of toys, games and cartoon DVD programs to keep young travellers entertained.

All room categories offer a pillow menu with a choice of six different pillows for guests ultimate comfort: the feather pillow, foam pillow, bolster pillow, buckwheat pillow, non-allergic pillow and Eco pillow. The Eco pillow is particularly interesting characterized by the technology to produce a tailor-made pillow by measuring ones neck, head and shape of the shoulders, it determines within 30 seconds the right pillow size and shape for a good nights sleep.

The hotels restaurant, La Maison de LOrient provides an extensive mostly Chinese menu including some international favourites, while the 3T Bar in the lobby is a perfect place to relax and unwind over a few drinks. The hotels six function rooms accommodate up to 36 for banquets for 50 for standing cocktails, and feature state of the art plasma TV screens.
