Qantas Holidays to launch Special Non-Stop Charter Flights to Phuket

Travel News Asia 11 March 2005

Qantas Holidays is offering holiday packages to Phuket priced from A$1099 per person twin share, plus surcharges, fees and taxes of A$149, for return flights, transfers and eight nights' accommodation.

The packages are being offered on six special Australian Airlines charter flights departing from Sydney on 20 and 27 June and 4, 11, 18 and 25 July 2005 (subject to government approval).

Head of Qantas Holidays, Simon Bernardi, said the flights - the only non-stop services between Sydney and Phuket - were part of Qantas Holidays' Rediscover Thailand campaign, which was launched last week in conjunction with the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

"These packages make it very easy for holiday makers to enjoy Phuket's world class beaches, great shopping and lively nightlife at an affordable price," said Mr Bernardi.

Mr Bernardi said that Thailand had long been one of the most popular destinations for Qantas Holidays and urged Australian travellers to support the post-tsunami recovery drive.

"Thailand is very dear to our heart and we hope this special offer will help the country's vital tourism industry get back on its feet."

The packages start from A$1099 per person twin share, plus surcharges, fees and taxes of A$149, for departures on 18 July and 25 July. For departures on 20 and 27 June and 4 and 11 July, prices start from A$1299 per person twin share, plus surcharges, fees and taxes of A$149.

The offer includes return economy class flights from Sydney to Phuket with full-service international holiday carrier Australian Airlines, eight nights' accommodation at the Front Village Hotel, full daily breakfast and return airport/hotel transfers.

This offer is exclusive to Qantas Holidays and is valid for sale until 25 July 2005.
