Hilton International makes China appointments

Hilton International has appointed Sonny Ang as Director of Sales & Marketing for its National Sales Office in China and Jonathan Gell as Director of Business Development at the Hilton Shanghai.

Sonny Ang

Sonny Angs last position was as the Director of Sales & Marketing for Hilton Shanghai. Sonny has had more than 10 years experience working in the Chinese market and will primarily be responsible for driving domestic sales as well as growing Hilton's share of the MICE segment in his new post. In addition, Sonny will co-ordinate the marketing efforts and pre-opening activity for the new and existing Chinese properties. His last post was in Hong Kong with Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts based in the Holiday Inn Golden Mile as Director of Marketing handling the joint marketing efforts of the Holiday Inns in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Penang and the satellite offices in Shanghai and Beijing. Prior to that, Sonny worked with the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Hong Kong and Thailand (based at the Four Seasons Bangkok handling the marketing for both the Bangkok and Chiang Mai properties).

Jonathan Gell

Jonathan Gell joins the Hilton Shanghai from the Hilton Adelaide where he was for three years the Director of Business Development responsible for the hotel's marketing, sales, PR and revenue functions including the launch of the hotel's $4.5m refurbishment of the LEVEL 1 conference facility. Prior to this role, Jonathan worked for six years with Heritage Hotels and Resorts in New Zealand where he held senior hotel management and corporate office management roles for the company.
