Four Points by Sheraton opens in Shenzhen

Travel News Asia 11 January 2005

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened its first mid-priced property in China with the opening of the Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen. This opening also marks the debut of the Four Points by Sheraton brand in China.

Developed by CAFU Investment (Shenzhen) Company, Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen is part of Phase I of “Cafu Square”, a multi-complex consisting of residential apartments and a multi-storey retail mall scheduled for completion in 2005. Phase II will introduce service apartments, additional guests rooms with dedicated Executive Floors, a designated Executive Lounge and personalized check in service. This will culminate in the realization of a blend of the residential, commercial, retail and entertainment facets in one complex.

“It is with immense anticipation and excitement that we open and launch the first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in China. This new property will undoubtedly raise the international standard of the upper mid scale hotels in the southern region of China and in the immediate market of Shenzhen. Elegantly designed, technologically wired and innovative in service, the Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen is primed to meet the demands of the most discerning traveler.” revealed Ms Zhang Lei, General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen.

Location

Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen is strategically located in the Shenzhen Futian Free Trade Zone, with a panoramic backdrop view of the tranquil hills and natural landscape of the New Territories. Its proximity to the 24 hour “Huanggang” border crossing to Hong Kong, 45 and 30 minutes respectively from both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen International Airports, easy access to the soon to be completed new convention centre in Shenzhen and bustling city centre near Luohu Railway station makes the hotel very convenient for business and leisure travelers.

Shenzhen is situated in the southern coastal area of Guangdong province, 160 kilometers away from Guangzhou and 35 kilometers from bustling Hong Kong. As one of the first economic zones and a major industrial and export base for China, Shenzhen is commonly referred by economists as a “boomtown” and serves as the southern gateway to mainland China attracting both corporate travelers and visitors with its unique theme parks, varied carnivals and activities.

Facilities

Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen features 278 contemporary guestrooms inclusive of 21 spacious and luxurious suites. The suites are furnished with the Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed, 3 telephones with dual lines and high speed Internet access. The hotel also offers an outdoor heated pool and a state of the art fitness centre.

Incorporating sheer comfort and modern style with a look that evokes easygoing refinement, the Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed, is a signature brand feature with crisp, cotton blend sheets; natural cushioning of feather and down sleeping pillows; ergonomically designed mattress and box spring set; caringly complemented with a pair of large lounging pillows and generously padded comforter.

Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen offers six dining and entertaining venues – Panash, Taste, China Spice, Out on Six, The Lounge and Taste Café & Deli. All the outlets are wireless, enabling guests to stay connected all the time.

Highlighting its unique dining concepts are “Panash”, one of the first PanAsian dining concept restaurants in Shenzhen presenting a blend of authentic flavors and favorites from Japan and the South East Asia region of Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Another highlight is “Taste”, the international restaurant that will invigorate the senses with live cooking stations positioned throughout the restaurant and cooking theatrics, courtesy of the fun seeking Chefs. The other outlets will be launched in mid 2005.

Also launching in mid 2005 will be over 800 square meters of wireless meeting and banquet facilities with state of the art audiovisual equipment.
