Air Tahiti Nui launches special fares between Sydney and Papeete

Travel News Asia 10 June 2005

Air Tahiti Nui has introduced a range of special air fares to mark the start of its twice-weekly flights between Sydney and Papeete.

The launch of the new flights on 9 July is perfectly timed to escape Australia’s winter chill.

From Sydney, the new Economy Class fares start at just A$699 (plus tax of approximately A$180); Melbourne from A$699 (plus tax of approximately A$250); Brisbane from A$699 (plus tax of approximately A$240); and Adelaide from A$979 (plus tax of approximately A$255)

Domestic connecting flights will be with Qantas.

The new flights, the only non-stop services between Australia and Tahiti, will depart Sydney at 9.15am every Monday and Saturday, taking just 7 ½ hours to reach Papeete.

After crossing the international dateline, flights will arrive in Papeete at 8.15pm the previous day.

Air Tahiti Nui will operate the new services with three-class Airbus A340-300 aircraft, with features including personal video screens and extensive in-flight video and audio entertainment.

The special launch fares are available for travel between 9 July and 31 August, and must be booked and paid for no later than seven days before departure. Seats are limited and conditions apply.
