1. Delta Bans Hoverboards
Delta has decided to not allow hoverboards on board its aircraft out of safety considerations. The airline specifically disallows hoverboards and all lithium battery powered self-balancing personal transportation devices in carry-on and checked baggage effective today, 11 December 2015.
2. Qatar Airways Bans Hoverboards
Qatar Airways has become the latest airline to ban battery-powered personal vehicles, commonly known as ‘hoverboards’, on all aircraft. Effective immediately, the ban applies to all small vehicles powered by lithium batteries as both checked-in baggage and as cabin baggage on all Qatar Airways flights. The ban applies regardless of the watt-hour rating of the lithium battery.
3. Finnair to Launch Weekly ATR Flights to Enontekiö
Finnair will operate a new weekly route to Enontekiö, Finland during winter 2016. Enontekiö has around 300km of skiing trails and guarantees the longest skiing season in Finland. It also boasts the chance of seeing the Northern Lights on every three out of four nights during winter.
4. Delta Signs Deal with Boeing For Up To 40 Aircraft
Delta Air Lines has confirmed plans to add up to 20 Embraer 190 and 20 new Boeing 737-900ER aircraft to its fleet. The deal with Boeing is part of the airline's continued strategy to improve its efficiency by adding additional 737-900ERs and upgauging its mainline fleet with the nearly 100-seat, twin-engine E190 jets while reducing the use of small regional aircraft.
5. Elbit Systems Wins US$26.5 Million Contract to Supply Advanced DIRCM Systems to Country in Asia
Elbit Systems has won a contract to supply commercial multi-spectral infrared countermeasures (C-MUSIC) systems to be implemented onboard a wide body jet aircraft of an undisclosed country in the Asia Pacific region. The contract, valued at approximately $26.5 million, will be performed over a two-year period.

Stefan Keel has been appointed General Manager of the Mövenpick Resort Boracay. Scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2016, Mövenpick Resort Boracay is the second Mövenpick branded property in the Philippines, after the 245-room Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu.
