According to data compiled by STR Global, hotels in the Middle East/Africa region reported positive performance during September 2014 when reported in U.S. dollars. In September, in year-on-year comparisons, the region reported a 13.1% increase in occupancy to 65.5%, a 1.3% increase in ADR to US$145.12 and a 14.5% increase in RevPAR to US$94.99.

Thai AirAsia will increase its current twice daily flights between Bangkok (Thailand) and Siem Reap (Cambodia) to triple daily from 1 December 2014. Hokkaido Air System (HAC) has become a subsidiary of Japan Airlines. Late last week, JAL completed a qualifying transaction to hold up to 51.2% of the shares in HAC.
