The wings for the first Airbus A350-1000 have begun the process of assembly at Broughton, North Wales. The A350-1000 wing has the same span of the A350-900 that is already in service, but 90% of the parts have been modified and the trailing edge has been extended to resize the wing for the additional payload and range.

110. Singapore Airlines Orders More Airbus A350s
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has increased its orders for the Airbus A350 XWB with an additional 30 A350-900s, plus options for a further 20 aircraft. The agreement firms up a commitment announced last month. Under the terms of the agreement, Singapore Airlines will be able to select either the baseline A350-900 or the larger A350-1000 when exercising the options.

Cathay Pacific has added capacity to its daily Perth service, upgrading the aircraft used on the route to Airbus A350-1000 aircraft over the Northern Winter 2019/20. The A350-1000 (334 seats) has replaced the A350-900 (280 seats) on the airline’s daily CX170/171 service, adding 108 additional seats per day.
