Shangri-La is developing a new hotel in Yingkou, a coastal city located in the north-western portion of the Liaodong Peninsula in Liaoning Province, China. The new hotel will open in 2015 and join the group’s growing portfolio of north-eastern China properties in Changchun, Dalian, Harbin and Shenyang bringing the total number of hotels in the region to eight in the next few years.

Marriott is to open the $45 million, 173-room Port-au-Prince Marriott Hotel, under a management agreement with ownership group Unigestion Holding S.A., a subsidiary of Digicel Group Ltd. In addition to creating 175 new jobs, Marriott has also said it will invest in hospitality training to benefit Haiti's tourism sector.
